Mirrors House Mix

The latest installment in our sporadic yet always satisfying mix series comes courtesy of a producer I’ve been posting a fair bit about recently. Hailing from Glasgow, Mirrors is a high-calibre architect of the house and garage variety, although recently exhibited his polymathic talents by dropping a stellar hip-hop release in the form of Superior EP.

Clocking in at just under 40 minutes, the mix itself is a compelling exploration of new house music with throwback elements. Featuring tunes from the likes of Synkro, Boddika & Joy Orbison, Mosca, Jack Dixon and Mirrors himself, the track that really stands out is Ce Ce Penniston’s dance classic ‘Finally’. Honestly, including that was a master stroke. I first listened to the whole thing in my car and if anybody had been watching me when that came on, they would have seen me transform into a ’90s backing dancer trying to steal a little bit of limelight. It made me genuinely wonder if I was born into the wrong generation…
